Shirley Bates, MEd, has over 35 years of educational experience as a classroom teacher, administrator, and district superintendent in Europe and the United States.  She is an expert in developing successful readers and helping young learners with the skills needed to become proficient in the language arts.

Francis Bates, MEd, has almost 40 years of training experience in both the US Air Force and private industry.  He has designed over 1500 training programs in the last 10 years while at Portland State University.   His experience includes creating apprenticeship programs for the State of Oregon and teaching for various colleges and universities in both Europe and the United States.

Shelly Ridder, MA, is the former Program Manager for the Project Management Program at PSU where she worked to grow the Advanced program and stabilize the curriculum. She has recently returned to Portland after living in India for the last four years, which has given her a greater appreciation for understanding cultural challenges and innovations for Project Management education. Prior to living in Portland, she was a university instructor in Kobe, Japan and Istanbul, Turkey for 8 years.
